Report: Blake Griffin to remain sidelined until late March

The Los Angeles Clippers are nearing the return of All-Star big man Blake Griffin, but it’s going to take at least a couple more weeks before he sees game action.

It’s not the broken hand Griffin suffered in a spat with a member of the team’s equipment staff back in January. Instead, it’s the quad injury he suffered on Christmas Day that’s keeping Griffin sidelined.

Now according to the Orange County Register, Griffin will remained sidelined until late March.

Considering the previous timetable suggested he would be back before then, this is a minor setback in the Clippers plans for the remainder of the regular season.

Remember, Griffin must serve a four-game suspension when he’s actually able to return to the court. That will push his potential return back even further.

The Clippers have done well to keep their heads above water without their all-world power forward in the mix.

They boast a 25-9 record since he departed in late December and are currently just 1.5 games behind the suddenly free-falling Oklahoma City Thunder for the third seed out west.
