Ohio Gov. John Kasich jokes about tearing down Camp Randall

Ohio Governor John Kasich is campaigning to become the next President of the United States. During a town-hall campaign event near the University of Wisconsin, via the Wisconsin State Journal, the Ohio State grad poked fun at the Big Ten rival Badgers.

Camp Randall Stadium, which was built way back in 1985, might need some renovations, but suggesting the monument should be torn down isn’t likely to endear the presidential hopeful to the folks in Wisconsin.

And, for what it’s worth, the Buckeyes do actually win at Camp Randall sometimes. The last time Ohio State played Wisconsin at the historic venue, the home team suffered a 21-14 overtime loss to its rival, and the Buckeyes have tied things up 2-2 the past four visits to America’s Dairyland, despite Kasich’s assertion that they never win at Camp Randall.

Over the course of time, Ohio State has actually won way more than it has lost at Wisconsin, posting a historical record of 26-12-2 at Camp Randall.
