Kings center DeMarcus Cousins suspended one game

Raise your hand if you’ve heard this one before. Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended one game. This time it comes in the form of accumulating a 16th technical foul on the season — an automatic suspension from the NBA.

Cousins’ latest technical came late Wednesday evening when he mocked referees in the team’s win over the Washington Wizards. Teammate Rajon Rondo also received a technical for the incident:

Remember, Cousins was suspended one game earlier this season for conduct detrimental to the team.

Though, it’s hard to imagine Cousins being able to blame this suspension on anyone but himself like he did last time around.

This latest incident is just another example of the immaturity Cousins has displayed throughout his otherwise tremendous Kings career.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see him hit with another suspension over the final two weeks. After all, once a player accumulates 16 technical fouls in a season, he’s suspended one game for each subsequent technical.

Cousins will miss Friday’s game against the Miami Heat.
