Jason Pierre-Paul lost half his hand in a fireworks accident last summer, and now it seems as though he wants to help others who have similar troubles.
Jason Pierre-Paul will visit the burn center at NY Presbyterian Hospital on Wednesday, donate $20,000 along with CareOne.

This is admirable work by Pierre-Paul. While the $20,000 is a nice donation, his presence could be more significant, at least immediately.
As bad as Pierre-Paul’s accident was, he did make it back onto an NFL field within just a few months of his accident. It will no doubt be inspiring for other burn victims, especially young ones, to see someone who did overcome his wounds.
In the long run, of course, the $20,000 will also be significant in helping future burn victims overcome their wounds.
It’s nice to see athletes do stuff like this. This not only shows a tremendous amount of gratitude by JPP but also a desire to help other burn victims who might be dealing with afflictions even worse than the ones he suffered.
