Dez Bryant praises Oklahoma State learning specialist he says ‘changed my life’

Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant got a chance to visit one of the people who had a hand in helping him succeed at Oklahoma State this Wednesday during a visit to the university.

The superstar was in town to help the football program unveil some new uniforms, and he clearly had a great time doing so.

One of the perks of visiting his old stomping grounds was the opportunity to visit OSU’s academic center to see Nikki Jones, who Dallas News SportsDay called “a long-time Oklahoma State learning specialist who works with student-athletes on a daily basis to assist in the organization of their crazy lives.”

After visiting Jones, Bryant posted a touching video in tribute of her and her efforts, which he says “changed his life,” on his Facebook page. This is what the star receiver wrote underneath:

“Nikki I just wanted you to know you changed my life…without GOD and you it would be impossible for me to experience this journey I’m on.. The long days long nights in the academic center..you staying by my side pushing me until I got it means the world to me… I put you through a lot and you never gave up on me.. I remember the day I got my certificate for making big 12 all academics first person I thought of was you.. I don’t remember telling you thank you.. so Thank you so much….I love you and always will…. ‪#‎okstate‬ pokes ‪#‎pistolsfiring‬ ‪#‎gocowboys‬

Bryant is coming off what was the most frustrating season for both himself personally and the Cowboys since he arrived in 2010. Dallas went 4-12 as both Bryant and Tony Romo missed much of the season with injuries. He is currently recovering from a difficult foot injury but should be good to go for the 2016 NFL season.

Before the 2015 disaster, Bryant had established himself as one of the best receivers in the NFL, catching at least 1,233 yards and 12 touchdowns in each of his three previous seasons.

Clearly, he doesn’t think any of his achievements on the NFL level would have been possible without the assistance of Jones. It’s awesome that there are people out there like her to help people in need. It’s also pretty amazing that Bryant is the kind of guy who reveres and cherishes those who helped them along the way.
