Report: Miami Heat expected to sign Joe Johnson

Recently placed on waivers by the Brooklyn Nets, it appears seven-time All-Star Joe Johnson is going to sign with the Miami Heat for the remainder of the season:

Previously linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 34-year-old Johnson would be a tremendous fit as an outside-shooting option for a Heat team that has struggled to an extent from the outside.

He’s likely to slot in as the team’s primary backup at both the shooting guard and small forward positions.

Despite struggling to the tune of 41 percent shooting from the field, Johnson is hitting on 37 percent of his three-point attempts this season.

He’s averaging a 13-year low 11.8 points while contributing 3.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game on the year.
