Report: Eagles will listen to trade offers for ‘unhappy’ Demarco Murray

One year after signing a five-year, $40 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, DeMarco Murray wants out, and the organization reportedly will listen to trade offers for the running back, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

Rapoport confirmed as well that Murray would still love to return to the Dallas Cowboys but noted there is “plenty to work out” because of his $13 million cap hit for the 2016 season.

It’s interesting that Murray isn’t changing his tune since the departure of Chip Kelly, who relegated him to third-string duty late in the season. The Eagles hired Doug Pederson to come in and take Kelly’s place, and he will likely feature the run in Philly, much like he did with the Kansas City Chiefs the past two years.

If Murray were to stay, he would likely have every opportunity to become a featured back again in Pederson’s system, but it seems he’s completely over the move to Philadelphia.

Murray rushed for just 702 yards last year, averaging a paltry 3.6 yards per carry and scoring six times on the ground. It will be interesting if the Eagles can get much for him in exchange after his value decreased following the poor campaign.
