Everyone who gets married has a dream wedding scenario. Some might dream about a sunset wedding in the Caribbean. Some might fantasize about saying “I do” in a private mountain resort. For James and Aleesa Miller, a wedding at Staples Center, home of the Los Angeles Kings, was just what the doctor ordered.

Here is a touching video, courtesy of FOX Sports West, that documented the entire ordeal.

Aleesa, who has struggled with heart conditions since 2013, couldn’t have been happier with how things turned out.

“We did have our dream wedding,” Miller said. “We never would have been able to plan it that way, but it is a dream wedding. It was everything we asked for, everything we wanted.”

Her new husband spurred the plan into action in just seven weeks after surgeries kept pushing their wedding back for nearly three years.

During the time in which they endured her procedures, James and Aleesa started to get into hockey, and more specifically, the Kings. They planned dates around Kings games and even watched them during her hospital stays.

During the wedding planning, James reached out to the Kings to see if they could have a wedding after-party after a game. However, the Kings took it a step further and gave them time on the ice for their dream wedding.

“He actually said, ‘No, no, no. we’ll get you private ice time if you want to do the ceremony here and we’ll arrange everything for you,’” Aleesa said. “It was one of those opportunities we couldn’t pass up.”

After the ceremony and reception, the couple watched the Kings play live, capping off a dream wedding that was years in the making.
