Aqib Talib mocks Cam Newton: ‘There ain’t no Santa Claus, there ain’t no Superman’

After a pitiful Super Bowl performance by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, there wasn’t much of “Superman” to be seen in Sunday’s devastating loss to the Denver Broncos, 24-10.

Acknowledging the fact that Newton’s alter ego clearly wasn’t in the house Sunday evening, Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib mocked the quarterback, via the Denver Broncos official Twitter page.

“There ain’t no Easter Bunny, there ain’t no Santa Claus, there ain’t no Superman.”

Touchdown celebrations by Newton, when we would normally see him pull open his shirt and expose his Superman emblem under his uniform, were notably absent on Sunday. Furthermore, this was little to Dab about and no footballs were proudly given to excited kids waiting in the front row.

Newton completed a horrific 43.9 percent of his passes for 265 yards, zero scores, one interception, and he two lost fumbles. He was also sacked six times for a net loss of 64 yards. The Broncos defense proved to be Newton’s Kryptonite all-game long.

Sadly for Newton and the Panthers, it is going to take some time for the stench of an overall disastrous performance to clear the air. Meanwhile Talib and his Broncos get to soak in all of the spoils that naturally accompany a Super Bowl victory.
