12 crazy stats from Warriors’ recent domination

The defending champion Golden State Warriors are coming off one of the most ridiculous four-game stretches for a team in NBA history.

Having outscored the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs by a combined 107 points in these four games, the Warriors made it clear just how good they are.

But just how dominating was Golden State during this mini run? Here are 12 ridiculous stats from the four-game span.

1. Stephen Curry made 27 three-point field goals and shot 60 percent from beyond the arc. For comparison’s sake, the Warriors’ four opponents during this span hit 16 threes and shot 23 percent from beyond the arc.

2. In the 31-point blowout win over Chicago last week, the Bulls starting front court of Taj Gibson, Tony Snell and Pau Gasol shot a combined 3-of-22 from the field for seven points. That game saw six different members of the Warriors score at least seven.

3. A total of 133 of Golden State’s 170 field goals during this span were assisted on. That’s an average of 78 percent. Its opponents compiled 79 assists on 149 made field goals (53 percent).

4. Stephen Curry compiled 136 points in 127 minutes. Meanwhile, the starting backcourts of the four teams Golden State played totaled 104 points in 205 minutes.

5. Curry finished the four-game span with a plus-minus of 115. The starting backcourts for Golden State’s opponents were a combined minus-149.

6. Draymond Green finished the four-game span with a plus-minus of 95. The starting power forwards he went up against were a combined minus-56.

7. Golden State outscored its opponents by a combined 49 points in the first quarter. For comparison’s sake, only nine other teams in the NBA possess a better point differential over the ENTIRE season.

8. Golden State’s bench tallied 214 points during this four-game span. The starters for its opponents scored 196 combined points.

9. The four teams Golden State defeated during this span have outscored their opponents by a combined 1,039 points in games against other NBA squads this season. Collectively, they were outscored by 107 points against the Warriors.

10. Warriors starters not named Klay Thompson shot 57 percent from the field. And despite shooting just 40 percent himself, Thompson finished this four-game span with a plus-minus of 79.

11. Golden State’s bench put up 58 assists on 73 made field goals. The opposing team’s starters assisted on 36 of 79 made field goals.

12. The Warriors put up a total of 10 30-point quarters compared to three for the opposing teams. Coincidentally, two of those three 30-point quarters came in the final stanza with the game already out of hand and starters riding the pine for both teams.
