DeAndre Hopkins wanted Brian Hoyer out of the game

DeAndre Hopkins wasn’t a big Brian Hoyer fan Saturday during the Houston Texans’ 30-0 blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

That’s actually putting it quite mildly.

At one point, Hopkins can be seen (if you’re good at reading lips) saying “Get that expletive out of the game.”

He was not a happy camper, and rightly so. Hopkins finished the day with six catches for 69 yards, leading the team in both categories, but there weren’t many plays to be had, thanks to an utterly hapless performance by Hoyer.

Houston’s quarterback finished with 136 yards on 15-of-34 passing with no touchdowns, four interceptions and a lost fumble, causing the fans to chant, “We want Weeden!” at one point.

No doubt Hopkins would like a new quarterback next year. Despite playing with four mediocre passers this year, he finished the regular season with 111 catches for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns.

His potential is limitless, with the exception of the quarterback he plays with. Hopefully for his sake, the Texans will finally bring in a quarterback worthy of throwing to such an exceptional receiver.
