Gus Bradley to return as Jaguars’ head coach

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

We will certainly see a handful of coaching changes in the days following the conclusion of the 2015 NFL season, but Gus Bradley will be returning to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Through Connor Orr, Jaguars owner Shad Khan confirmed the decision in no uncertain terms.

I spoke to Gus Bradley today to confirm to him that he will continue as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. It’s evident to see how far we’ve come in many aspects of our game, and Gus deserves a lot of credit for that progress.

Bradley is already the third-longest tenured coach in franchise history, trailing only Tom Coughlin and Jack Del Rio.

The 2015 season will be the eighth consecutive season without a playoff appearance in Jacksonville, but this is already the best season they’ve had under Bradley, who took the job in 2013 and is 12-35.

A win on Sunday in Houston would give the Jaguars a 6-10 finish, which would be their best season since going 8-8 in 2010.

The team showed plenty of promise this year, and the offense appears to have the potential to become among the best in the league.
