Urban Meyer: J.T. Barrett to start against Illinois following suspension

J.T. Barrett is a college football star who faces immense pressure in 2017

Urban Meyer announced Monday that J.T. Barrett, fresh off his one-game suspension, will start against Illinois in Week 11, provided he has a good week of practice.

Bill Rabinowitz of the Dispatch shared this news via his Twitter account. He also shared how Meyer did mention it is hard to pull Cardale Jones off starting duty, given his 11-0 record as a starter, but that he thinks it is “the right decision at this time.”

In particular, Meyer mentioned Barrett’s abilities as a runner as the primary reason for making the switch.

When Barrett has played for Ohio State this season, there is no doubt the offense has been more explosive, both on the ground and through the air.

Provided Barrett learned his lesson and stays out of trouble after his OVI arrest, there is no reason to think Meyer will reverse course the rest of the way in 2015.
