Report: Jimbo Fisher intends on staying at Florida State

Jimbo Fisher

Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher reportedly has no intention of leaving Tallahassee for greener pastures this offseason.

There has been plenty of speculation about whether or not Fisher would be interested in other jobs, like perhaps the one that may or may not be opening up at LSU. Responding to this, sources close to the head coach say Fisher is saying he intends to stay at FSU, per footballscoop.com.

Since taking over for legendary coach Bobby Bowden in 2010, Fisher has resurrected the program to become a national powerhouse once again. In the six seasons since then, FSU has put together a fantastic record of 56-13 and has won four prominent bowl games. His Seminoles went undefeated and won a national championship in 2013, thanks in part to the fabulous play of quarterback Jameis Winston but also due to an outstanding defense.

Fisher has been a phenomenal recruiter during his tenure in the panhandle and appears to be interested in establishing his own legacy at Florida State. The program is 9-2 this season and has a chance to play spoiler to in-state rival Florida’s playoff hopes this Saturday.
