Deion Sanders goes off on San Francisco 49ers during Thursday Night Football halftime show

Deion Sanders was displeased with the performance of the San Francisco 49ers during Thursday Night Football in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks. At the half, Seattle had a 17-0 lead, and Sanders was hot under the collar about the result.

The former 49ers cornerback and NFL Hall of Famer didn’t hold back his disdain for the ineptitude of the home team and said they “should be ashamed” of the performance.

“This San Francisco 49ers football team and the fans should be ashamed,” Sanders said on CBS (via ProFootballTalk.com). “The management and ownership should be ashamed. This team is three years removed from a Super Bowl and they’re putting that product. Colin Kaepernick has nowhere to go, nowhere to throw. We’re here seeing this live. No one is open. They’re not blocking a soul. This is pathetic for a team that was in the Super Bowl just a few years ago. They lost a darn good coach and some really good players.”

San Francisco couldn’t score and only managed 55 total yards in the first half. Meanwhile, the Seahawks racked up 17 points, and it would have been more if not for an interception by Tramaine Brock in the end zone late in the second quarter.

San Francisco and Seattle both entered the game tied at the bottom of the NFC West with records of 2-4. The two teams are in no way equal, however, as clearly displayed during the first half.

While there have been some periods of time in which this franchise has played with some semblance of skill in 2015. However, for the most part 49ers fans have been treated to a heaping plate of trash. Sanders was right to call out the organization that once had the privilege of calling him one of its own.
