Aaron Rodgers on interception-free season: ‘I don’t think it is’ possible

Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has avoided interceptions at a historic rate, but the reigning NFL MVP isn’t sold on the idea he could last an entire season without throwing a pick.

Per ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Rodgers said though he enjoys the streak, it’s too early to think about an interception-free 2015 campaign.

“It’s Week 5, I think. That’s a tough one to answer. I don’t know if it’s possible. I don’t think it is, but I enjoy the streak.”

Through four games, Rodgers has completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns. A Kansas City Chiefs defender dropped a potential interception, but otherwise, Rodgers has avoided throwing into bad situations on nearly every attempt.

Overall, his last picked-off pass during the regular season came in Week 15 last season.

Although Rodgers has tossed fewer than double-digit interceptions in each of the last four years, the no-pick year will surely end at some point in 2015.

But a different streak might not end. Rodgers hasn’t thrown an interception at Lambeau Field since Week 13 of the 2010 campaign, recording a stunning 486 pass attempts since his last turnover.

The St. Louis Rams will attempt to end both impressive feats on Sunday afternoon, when the Packers host the NFC West foe at 1 p.m. ET.
