10 outrageously silly observations from NFL Week 7

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton

The NFL Week 7 action brought on much silliness, including some outrageous quotes, fashion habits, faux pas and entertaining social media posts.

Therefore, these are some observations from Week 7 that fit this description.

Colin Kaepernick’s “Crime” logo shirt

Kap’s choice of t-shirt was quite appropriate to wear to address the press after the Seahawks robbed the 49ers of yet another win and the quarterback clocked a sideline staff member in the head with a football in the process.

The 49ers unfortunately sit at the bottom of the NFC west with their lowly two wins which diehard fans might consider worse than some casual crimes.

Chip Kelly remains clueless about how to fix wide receiver drops

The coach unfortunately has no idea what to do about his wide receivers and their horrible carelessness when it comes to dropping passes, via Phillymag.com.

“I don’t have an answer for [the drops], but we did have too many for us to be successful,” Kelly said “I thought [Bradford] threw the ball well, threw with authority tonight, but the drops obviously hurt big time. We’ve got to get an answer for that.”

If Sam Bradford completing 56.52 percent of his passes for 205 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception is throwing the ball well, we’ll have to let Kelly have that one.

Colts fans get grumpy and start cheering for Matt Hasselbeck to enter the game

There is no doubt something is wrong with Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts this season. Especially due to the fact it took Luck until the third quarter to finally score his first touchdown against a bad New Orleans Saints defense in Week 7.

Prior to the score, there were fan rumblings cheering for Hasselbeck to enter the game and for Luck to scat the heck out. Hasselbeck has two wins in his two starts this season, while Luck has one win and four losses on the books.

Greg Hardy needs to extend his vocabulary

Hardy adamantly would not address the press’s questions involving a heated sideline incident between himself and a coach that Dez Bryant had to come and break up. Hardy repeatedly said “No comment. Next question” about 15 times to an inquiring reporter.

Jerry Jones apparently thrives from player drama

The Cowboys are losing, his boys are fighting and Jones couldn’t care less about the sideline chaos involving his hot-tempered players.

Of course we should have realized Jones wouldn’t be fazed by a little sideline squabbling because it provides for excitement.

Giovani Bernard enjoys football from the comfort of his toilet

What does Cincinnati Bengals running back do on his bye week off? What else but enjoy the Yahoo live stream feed of the Bills/Jaguars London game perched on his toilet seat with his toothbrush in mouth. This leaves inquiring minds wondering who exactly the film crew was in Bernard’s restroom.

Bernard, who looks refreshingly well-rested, will return in Week 8 to see if the Bengals can continue their undefeated streak against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cam Newton’s amazing shoe collection is endless

The undefeated quarterback continues to dazzle at his pressers with his spectacular footwear collection — once again worn with no socks, which is his signature look.

With how well Newton and the Panthers are playing, he has earned the right to wear anything he wants to while addressing the press.

Is Brandon Marshall home yet?

The veteran All Pro receiver made a couple of very careless errors, including a dropped touchdown pass and a last-second formation mistake in Sunday’s 30-23 loss to the New England Patriots.

Based on Marshall’s tweet, posted Sunday afternoon after the game, he’s probably somewhere in Providence, Massachusetts by now.

Johnny Manziel hopes that no love is lost after incident with girlfriend

Manziel is back in the spotlight after cops were called to investigate a recent domestic incident with his girlfriend when he admitted to drinking earlier in the day. For this, he is facing an impending interview with the NFL to discuss the incident.

“I hope I still have some love in the city of Cleveland,” Manziel said via Cleveland.com. “I hope people haven’t given up on me. I’m trying to do the right things on the field, just trying to keep my head down and just keep plugging and keep pushing and keep trying to gain back what I felt I lost last year in a rough rookie season.”

Manziel was called to duty in Sunday’s game late in the fourth quarter after Josh McCown injured his shoulder. Depending on the severity of McCown’s injury, Manziel could get the start in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Philip Rivers butt of classic fantasy football meme

Philip Rivers leads the NFL in passing yards with 2,452, which equates to whopping average of 350.29 per game.

Unfortunately, the San Diego Chargers have only two wins, so Rivers is constantly slinging the rock in a desperate attempt to catch up with the competition. All of Rivers’ passing yards, combined with 15 total touchdowns, are making his fantasy owners — who don’t care whether the Chargers win or lose — very happy.
