Richard Sherman apologizes to Seahawks fans, plugs business

Richard Sherman Seattle Seahawks

Richard Sherman offered a heartfelt apology to loyal Seattle Seahawks fans for the way his team has started the 2015 NFL season, and then he plugged his T-shirt business.

A smart entrepreneur never turns down an opportunity to plug his or her business, right?

Sherman wrote a message to fans on his Facebook page. It was really touching. Until the end.

“Not the result we wanted, plain and simple. I gave up that pass interference, just lost the quarterback in the backfield, and that’s on me. I have to get better at that, locate the quarterback, and make a play. We have to do our jobs, and I have to do my job, to prevent those plays and prevent those penalties. You know we’re going to be studying the film and putting things right on the field this week. Looking forward to coming out in front of you all at Clink this weekend and putting things right. Of course, knowing the undying loyalty of the famed “12s” there is zero chance any of them would say what Sherman did by plugging his wares at the end of an apology was wrong.

Sherman was burned pretty easily by James Jones in the first quarter of the game for a touchdown, and neither he nor the rest of the team’s secondary exhibited much of what has made them famous as the “Legion of Boom.”

Of course, perhaps not having safety Kam Chancellor out there has just a teensy, tiny impact on how the rest of the unit plays. On that note, things are still at a standstill between Chancellor and the franchise. Nothing has changed, and at this point it doesn’t appear anything is going to change soon.

The Seahawks host the Chicago Bears in Week 3. The Bears will start Jimmy Clausen behind center, as starting quarterback Jay Cutler is out with a hamstring injury suffered on Sunday when he tried tackling Arizona Cardinals safety Tony Jefferson, who scored on a pick-six.

Needless to say, Sherman and the rest of his defensive teammates will be like sharks smelling blood in the water for this upcoming contest.
