The Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and there is the overwhelming possibility that some fans who travel to Chicago will be wearing Matt Forte’s No. 22 jersey.

Why might this be? According to a report released by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Forte’s jersey is the top-selling jersey in the state of Wisconsin. And, from this we can conclude that more folks are purchasing Forte’s jersey than are buying Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy jerseys.

Forte even shared his own thoughts, which were a bit comical, regarding his jersey sales (via CBS Sports):

“There must be a lot of Bears fans in Wisconsin,” Forte said on Friday. “Either that or they’re buying it to burn it or something.”

Or, we could assume that Forte has an abundance of family members who live in Wisconsin. Perhaps another reason for Forte’s jersey being the No. 1 seller is that everyone in Wisconsin already owns a Rodgers jersey.

The Dick’s Sporting Goods report included all jerseys purchased in the store and online between April 30 and September 3.

Another interesting takeaway from the Dick’s report is that Calvin Johnson’s is the top-selling jersey in the state of Minnesota. We can be sure that newly transplanted Minnesota Vikings receiver Mike Wallace and veteran running back Adrian Peterson won’t be too happy about that fact.

As for Forte, he should be see seeing the an abundance of love from all sides of Soldier Field in Sunday’s game.
