Mike Evans would rather play as Calvin Johnson or Antonio Brown in Madden 16

Mike Evans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-year wide receiver Mike Evans isn’t happy about his Madden 16 rating, which came in at 87. This is probably why he said that he would rather play as Detroit Lions star wideout Calvin Johnson or Pittsburgh Steelers Antonio Brown, rather than use himself in the game.

Brown was the highest rated Madden receiver at 97 and Johnson rated third highest at 95. Evans, who was rated several notches below, seemed pretty bummed when the ratings were released:

The ratings are crazy,” Evans told MMQB (h/t Foxnews.com). “All the years, all the money I’ve been wasting on Madden, the hard work I put in on the field, getting hit in the head, knees hurting, and I still can’t get a 90 rating overall. Twenty other receivers are rated higher than me. It’s crazy, man. It hurts, man. I am a little bitter.”

We’re not sure who should feel worse here—Evans or Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, who rated second at 96 and who was completely snubbed by Evans.

Perhaps Evans will work even harder this season to deem himself worthy of playing as himself when next year’s Madden ratings are released.
