Joe Namath is happy IK Enemkpali signed with Buffalo Bills

Showing no support or respect for New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith, the legendary Joe Namath publicly endorsed the Buffalo Bills’ signing of linebacker IK Enemkpali.

If you’re been living on a different planet for the past couple of days, Enemkpali slugged Smith on Tuesday during a locker room argument that resulted in a broken jaw for the third-year quarterback.

The fight was over something stupid, a $600 debt Smith owes Enemkpali for a plane ticket. Enemkpali was immediately released, and Smith will be sidelined from 6-10 weeks while his jaw heals.

It’s rich to see that Namath can look past a player slugging his franchise quarterback especially when it comes from Namath’s old stomping grounds. Where’s the loyalty?

On the flip side, Smith hasn’t exactly owned up to his involvement in the scuffle, nor has he developed into a successful franchise quarterback. Would we ever witness a classy and respected quarterback such as Drew Brees shout an “F-bomb” at his fans? Probably not.

As it stands, Smith may have to fight incumbent Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting job once he comes back. Should Smith return to the starting lineup and Enemkpali make the Bills final roster, the two could come face-to-face, or shall we say fist-to-face, during Weeks 10 and 17 when the two teams face off in 2015.

Will we see a tipsy “Broadway Joe” dawned in his gaudy fur coat holding a Enemkpali sign while cheering from the Jets sidelines this season? Weirder things have happened when it comes to the glitzy, womanizing, Hall of Fame quarterback.
