This is the first and only time you will ever see light-hitting Minnesota Twins outfielder Aaron Hicks compared to the great Willie Mays.
What Hicks did Monday night in Minnesota’s 4-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles was nothing short of extraordinary. And it brought back memories of one of the greatest catches in the history of the game.
The only thing really missing from this catch compared to Mays’ play from some 61 years prior is that Hicks’ hat didn’t fly off his head:
Oh, and it wasn’t a run-saving grab in the World Series.
Nonetheless, what an amazing play by Hicks.
