Restricted free agent Khris Middleton is close to signing a five-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.

The 23-year-old posted career-best averages of 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals during the 2014-15 campaign. He shot 46.7 from the field, buried 40.7 percent of his three-point attempts and recorded a 109 offensive rating.

Middleton was a key contributor for Milwaukee, which managed a 41-41 record before bowing out in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

A versatile offensive player, Middleton will be expected to shoulder the scoring load at the beginning of the 2015-16 season, since Jabari Parker will still be recovering from an ACL injury sustained in January.

The Bucks acquired Middleton from the Detroit Pistons in July 2013 as part of the trade that sent Brandon Jennings to the Motor City and Brandon Knight to Milwaukee.
