DeMarre Carroll will play for the Toronto Raptors next season, the small forward shared on his Twitter account.

According to Sam Amick of USA Today, Carroll’s contract is worth $60 million over four years.

During the 2014-15 campaign, Carroll proved his breakout season in 2013-14 was no fluke. He registered 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game while starring as a lockdown perimeter defender for the Eastern Conference runner-up Atlanta Hawks.

Carroll tallied career-best offensive and defensive ratings, posting 117 and 104 marks, respectively. Additionally, the 28-year-old buried 39.5 percent of his three-point attempts.

The Raptors boast an All-Star guard in Kyle Lowry and electric scorer in DeMar DeRozan, but the roster was in desperate need of a top defender. Carroll now offers that presence for a team that must overcome LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in order to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

Under head coach Dwane Casey, Toronto has earned postseason berths in each of the last two seasons.
