All the pre-draft talk about pretty much every member of the Denver Nuggets being up for sale has subsided. While Ty Lawson may very well find himself moved, it looks like the team is going to be kept together for first-year head coach Michael Malone.
Denver took that idea to a new level on Saturday be signing forward Wilson Chandler to a four-year, $46 million extension.

Chandler, 28, was acquired from the New York Knicks in the Carmelo Anthony trade during the 2010-11 season. He has been a steady, albeit slightly above-average, force for Denver since. This past season saw the 6-foot-8 forward average 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 43 percent from the field, including 34 percent from three-point range.
It’s an interesting move for a franchise that doesn’t seem to have a clear direction.
Rumors persisted that Chandler, Lawson, Kenneth Faried and Danilo Gallinari were all on the block leading up to the draft. Instead, all four remain on the team heading into the short summer break. In addition to this, Denver added an elite young play-maker in the form of guard Emmanuel Mudiay in the draft. While a couple veterans could be moved between now and the start of the season, it doesn’t appear Denver is prepared to go into full-scale rebuild mode.
