Dez Bryant: “I Think the Only Thing That’s Missing is a Super Bowl”

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is giddy and floating around on cloud nine after landing the the contract he had been longing for over the past couple years. After inking a five-year, $70 million deal with $45 million guaranteed, Bryant had this to say:

“I smiled the whole way over here. I couldn’t even say nothing but just smile and laugh, because I couldn’t believe it,” Bryant said, per the team’s official website. “All I could just think about is that it’s a dream—a dream come true. I think the only thing that’s missing is a Super Bowl.”

Isn’t it interesting how $70 million can change a player’s tune so quickly?

Bryant went from possibly skipping regular season games to visions of Super Bowl dreams in his eyes. Bryant also indicated that he was not joking about missing games while admitting time away from his teammates has been rough.

While the Cowboys never took Bryant’s threats seriously, they did show him some massive love by guaranteeing him $45 million in cold-hard cash. This also means that they must trust Bryant will hold up his end of the bargain for the next five years.

Bryant concluded with a pretty interesting take:

“Now that we’ve got the deal done, I can only imagine what’s fixing to go down this season. We’re Super Bowl ready.”

That leaves us to wonder if Bryant is suggesting that if he played under his franchise tender this year, would the Cowboys not be Super Bowl worthy?
