Chris Johnson accused of smashing up a Rolls-Royce rental car

Most of us rent a practical Jeep Rangler or Ford Mustang when we go on vacation. This was not the case for NFL running back Chris Johnson. Johnson reportedly rented a $300,000 Rolls-Royce Ghost in January of 2014 from Just 4 Luxury in Miami, Florida.

Johnson paid cash up front to rent the luxury ride for two days. The rental company is claiming that Johnson kept the car for almost five days, ran up a bunch of mileage and smashed up the front grill which had to be replaced.

Management at Just 4 Luxury reports they plan to sue Johnson if he doesn’t pay to cover the following costs for the Rolls:

Three days of extra rental at $1,000 per day – $3,300
Extra mileage charge for 500 miles at $1.50 per mile – $750
Grill replacement and installation – $12,000

Johnson’s representative claims there was no wrongdoing and that the running back has paid in full for everything he owes. The representative also added that the car was not damaged and the $16,550 that the rental car company is trying to recover is not substantiated.

Whether this issue will ever be solved remains about as questionable as a return to the NFL by Johnson.
