Just hours after the Houston Astros called up Carlos Correa, the No. 4 prospect in baseball, the organization has decided to bring up another heralded young player for the AL West-leading squad.

According to MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart, Houston is bringing up Vincent Velasquez, and the starting pitcher is expected to make his debut on Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox.

Velasquez, a second-round draft pick in 2010, surrendered just four earned runs in 26.1 innings for the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks this season. He posted a 3-0 record and 1.37 ERA while striking out 37 batters compared to issuing just nine walks.

Velasquez joins Lance McCullers Jr., another member of Houston’s tremendous minor-league system who was recently called up to the Astros. With Correa, Velasquez and McCullers in the MLB, Houston is one step closer to solidifying its place as the best young team in baseball.

Baseball America rated Velasquez the organization’s No. 4 prospect.
