The Sacramento Kings announced that power forward Carl Landry underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist and will be sidelined for four to five months.
Landry, who just finished his eighth NBA season, averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game for the Kings, primarily serving as a backup to Jason Thompson.
The 31-year-old Landry missed five games in January due to a wrist injury. According to the team, Dr. Michelle Carlson at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York performed the operation.
Landry’s timeline for return puts his availability for the Kings’ 2015-16 season-opener in question. Since Ryan Hollins and Reggie Evans are unrestricted free agents, Sacramento must re-sign those players, add some reserves via the draft or acquire a backup in free agency.
Per HoopsHype, Landry is due $6.75 million during each of the next two years.
