WATCH: Chicken Finger Delay between Giants & D’Backs

San Diego Chicken

In 1982, the Weather Girls made the song “It’s Raining Men” famous. Thursday night in a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park, it was “raining chicken fingers.”

A breaded chicken dropped from the sky and landed near the mound as Randall Delgado of the Giants delivered a pitch in the bottom of the 12th inning. The Arizona Republic reported that the source of the chicken finger was a seagull who was in flight above the field. The Giants went on to win the game 7 – 6.

My Take On This
Perhaps this was a message from the San Diego Padres to both teams.  You’ll of course remember when  Jack Woltz wouldn’t play ball with Vito Corleone consigliere Tom Hagen. Might the Padres – in cohoots with the San Diego Chicken – have been behind this? Not quite the same effect as a horse’s head, yet you have to start somewhere if you’re the Padres after five years of losing seasons.
