Top D.C. Power Brokers are Regulars at Nationals Park

It appears that the thing to do following a long day on the Beltway in D.C. is to attend a Washington Nationals game.

The Nationals, who relocated from Montreal and became the first MLB team in the nation’s capital since 1971, are among the best teams in the sport. Despite the team’s success, it still hasn’t earned that elusive World Series title.

This hasn’t stopped some of the power elite in D.C. from taking time out of their busy days to attend games.

As baseball gets going on a grand scale Monday, we can expect to see a laundry list of big time power brokers chumming it up at Nationals Park this season.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito is a frequent visitor to Nationals Park in the nation’s capital.” Steve Ginsburg of Reuters indicated Monday morning. “So is Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his Democratic counterpart Harry Reid.”

Somehow we don’t think that McConnell and Reid will be sharing a beer and a hot dog at the ballpark. Though, that could be a way to resolve some of the biggest political issues of our day.

Former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan and his replacement, Ben Bernanke, also regularly attend Nationals games.

Despite partisan bickering between the two political parties, we can assume they have one thing in common. They all want to see the Nationals win a World Series before they are thrown out of office by the American public.

Based off the team’s offseason, the Nationals are one of the favorites to hoist that trophy this year. A championship may very well calm some nerves in D.C. in the lead up to the presidential election next year.
