Instead of focusing on rebuilding a talent-stricken defense, the New Orleans Saints have selected former Stanford offensive tackle Andrus Peat with the 13th pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
It’s not that tackle wasn’t a need for the Saints. Instead, they could have potentially added a player at this position with the 31st pick.
As it relates to Peat, he’s considered the best natural offensive tackle in the draft, and should be able to slot in at Drew Brees’ blindside as a rookie.
It also means that the Saints have a pair of book ends along the offensive line with Peat and Arik Armstead.
