Report: Trent Richardson Signs with the Oakland Raiders

Former first-round pick Trent Richardson was not a free agent for long after his release from the Indianapolis Colts. He has reportedly just signed a deal with the Oakland Raiders.

It sure looks like the Raiders are attempting to add talent to what is suddenly depleted backfield following the Maurice Jones-Drew retirement and Darren McFadden signing with the Dallas Cowboys.

At just 24 years old, Richardson is coming off of a horrendous season with the Colts that saw him put up just 3.3 yards per carry. With nowhere to go but up, Richardson will compete with Latavius Murray and newly signed Roy Helu Jr. for touches in the Raiders backfield.

The deal is worth $3.9 million over two seasons. With incentives, Richardson could earn $4 million annually.
