Mark Sanchez and the Eagles Reportedly Have a Strong Mutual Interest

Quarterback Mark Sanchez may not have to pursue another team for 2015. According to reports, Sanchez and the Philadelphia Eagles stand a strong chance of remaining together this upcoming season (via NJ.com).

The news of mutual interest could lead us to believe that Sanchez feels his best chance to play or possibly start in 2015 remains in Philly. With the Eagles not fully committing to quarterback Nick Foles retaining the starting gig, the team wants to keep Sanchez.

Even though Sanchez produced inconsistent results during his one-year stint in Philadelphia—winning just five of nine games—he did manage to lead the team to an average of 27 points per game to Foles’ 22 average per game. Overall, Sanchez completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 2,418 yards, 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

There is also a chance Sanchez finds himself in a three-way competition for the starting gig with Nick Foles and hot college prospect Marcus Mariota. This would only happen if the Eagles finagle a way up in the first round of the draft in late April.

If Sanchez does indeed re-sign, the comfort and familiarity level of both parties is definitely a benefit entering into training camp.
