Vic Beasley’s Ridiculous 40 Time

Former Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley dazzled onlookers at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis by running a ridiculous 4.53 40-yard dash on Sunday.

To put this into perspective, that number is better than what Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton ran during their combine appearances.

That’s just insane, especially considering Kaepernick and Newton are seen as the two most athletic quarterbacks in the NFL today.

Beasley, a likely first-round pick, did himself a huge favor here. Seen as a tremendous edge pass rusher, his speed equates to a potential 3-4 outside linebacker role as well as a 4-3 defensive end role. Needless to say, that type of versatility will help him come draft day.

And while the combine is only used as one of many resources for NFL front offices, Beasley’s 40 time might have been the most impressive overall performance in Indianapolis.
