Everyone knew that the three-point contest would be a big draw on All-Star Saturday night around the NBA. The likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, James Harden and Kyrie Irving competing in the contest the day before all four take part in the real game on Sunday.
That specific event didn’t disappoint at all. Curry beat out Irving and Thompson in the final after nailing a ridiculous 13 consecutive shots.

Curry’s teammate, Klay Thompson, went last. Unfortunately one half of the Splash Brother duo didn’t create much drama as he went cold towards the latter part of the final round.
Moving over to the Slam Dunk contest, early skepticism gave way to a ridiculous overall performance from rookie Zach LaVine of the Minensota Timberwolves, who outlasted Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo for the title.
At 19, LaVine became the youngest player since Kobe Bryant to win the dunk contest. His ridiculous performance, including a 540 dunk, awed the audience.

LaVine’s Timewolves teammate, Andrew Wiggins, also seemed to be a tad impressed by his performance.
In the “no one really cares” category, Patrick Beverley of the Houston Rockets won the Skills competition.
So there you have it. An entertaining night of basketball in New York City will now make way for the real game Sunday evening at Madison Square Garden.
