Brandon Marshall Discussed Playing for the Ravens With John Harbaugh

Chicago Bears’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall—one of the NFL’s elite over the years— caught heat when he began working on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” during the 2014 season.

Working as an analyst for “Inside the NFL” would have Marshall traveling to New York on Tuesdays—his day off. However, the coaches reportedly did not like Marshall’s moonlighting because it didn’t allow him to get the proper rest or treatment if necessary for the upcoming game.

So how does John Harbaugh fit in? Working for the television show, Marshall interviewed Harbaugh during Super Bowl week and asked him if he played for the Ravens would Harbaugh let him work at “Inside the NFL?” Marshall indicated that Harbaugh said “absolutely.”

The Marshall-Harbaugh exchange was likely done jokingly. That being said, there are questions floating around about whether Marshall will return to the Bears in 2015. Criticized for his moody off-field and locker room antics, Marshall could be looking for somewhere else to play. This is only magnified by the fact that Chicago boasts a new general manager in Ryan Piece and a new head coach in John Fox.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Marshall has a base salary due of $7.5 million for 2015 and that becomes completely guaranteed if he stays on the roster come March 12. The team has five weeks to decide if it wants to keep the 30-year-old receiver.

In the meantime, can we even imagine the intensity Marshall and Steve Smith could drum up both on the field and in the locker room should Marshall actually venture over to Baltimore?
