Report: Bears Hire Adam Gase as New Offensive Coordinator

The Chicago Bears are assembling quite the staff under head coach John Fox. A day after bringing in former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio in the same role, Chicago has reportedly hired former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase to run that offense.

Working under Fox the past two seasons in Denver, Gase headed a record-setting offense that put up the most points in a two-year span in NFL history. Prior to that, he was an offensive assistant for the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.

Earlier this month, it seemed that Gase was headed to San Francisco to become that team’s new head coach, but things reportedly unraveled at the last minute. San Francisco ended promoting former defensive line coach Jim Tomsula to the head coaching role. That left Gase on the outside looking in when it came to head coaching opportunities.

The deal is said to be for three years and will enable Gase to work with a rather talented offense that includes Pro Bowl running back Matt Forte and stud receivers Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall.
