Peyton Manning Wants to Make the Decision that Would “Help the Team Win”

Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning’s decision regarding a return to the NFL in 2015 is still up in the air.

Where Manning has claimed he has no concerns about passing his annual physical, which occurs on March 9, he says he just needs more time. Attending the Bart Starr awards banquet Friday morning, Manning had this to say.

I haven’t made a decision. I’m still trying to take some time to evaluate some things.

Manning also said that his decision depends on his ability to “help the team win.”

Manning also said that playing under coach Gary Kubiak would not be a detriment or deter him from returning.

At least Manning has shared some of his thought process rather than remaining tight-lipped about everything. He has already met with coach Kubiak and has plans to meet with John Elway when he gets back from vacation. Obviously Manning would want to know the team’s long-term plan and the scheme before ultimately coming to a conclusion about whether to return. Now that he likely has that information, a decision could be forthcoming.

With about five weeks to go until the March physical, Manning still has time to sort his future out. He’s also got a great support system of teammates and even rival quarterback Tom Brady, who want him to return.
