Jameis Winston Decision Won’t Come Until After National Title Game

After all the drama surrounding Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston this season, it seemed to be a foregone conclusion that he was going to enter the 2015 NFL draft.

However, indications from his camp are that he still hasn’t made a decision about his future. According to Winston’s father, Antonor, the Heisman-winning quarterback won’t make a decision until after the National Championship game between Ohio State and Oregon this upcoming Monday.

An elite talent, the largest knock on Winston include multiple off-field incidents during his days as a member of the Seminoles. On the field, he’s considered a top-10 talent. But when factoring into account Winston’s entire package, there is a good chance that he will drop down the draft board when the draft comes calling this spring.

There are reportedly even some teams who currently have Winston completely off their draft boards.

One reason for Winston’s potential return to Florida State could be for him to prove skeptics wrong. If he goes through an entire offseason and 2015 campaign without incident, some of these questions could be muted.

Either way, we still have to expect that Winston will turn pro. Not much will change as it relates to his perception in a year’s time.
