Earl Thomas on Aaron Rodgers: Don’t See Many QBs of His Skin Color with Soul Like That

Seattle Seahawks’ All-Pro safety Earl Thomas still considers Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers a threat despite his calf injury. Not exactly under the impression that Rodgers’ calf injury will keep him limited, Thomas had some positive things to say about Rodgers (via NFL.com).

I just respect him as a football player in general. You can tell that he knows the game. He has a lot of confidence back there. You don’t really see a lot of quarterbacks of his skin color with soul like that, and I like it.

That’s certainly respect paid if I do say so. Then again, “a lot of quarterbacks of his skin color with soul like that.” Guess, we will just leave that right there.

Regarding Rodgers’ own comments on his torn calf, he has acknowledged that he suffers from pain and stiffness “constant, around-the-clock.”

It was painful the entire (Divisional Round) game. It was just something that I knew I was going to have to deal with during the week and in the warmups. Nothing really loosened up, it was just dealing with the pain, pain management. And being smart about it.

Despite Rodgers’ acknowledgement of his pain, it doesn’t appear any slack will be cut to him on Thomas’ end.
