Percy Harvin Claims He “Loves” Cordarrelle Patterson’s Skill Set

Just this past week, the Minnesota Vikings benched 2013 first-round draft pick Cordarrelle Patterson, who has been incredibly ineffective so far this season. His benching came in favor of fellow youngster Charles Johnson.

Now that Patterson is no longer an active part of the offense, former Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin indicated that he “loves” Patterson’s skill set.

It’s not an easy transition, not having played receiver at all and then you come and you’re one of the full-time guys outside. So I think it’s just repetition. As he gets older, I think it’ll start coming to him.

That in and of itself should worry Vikings fans.

Though Patterson who showed signs of break out potential last year, he has done next to nothing in 2014. It is noted that Patterson’s development has regressed because he plays in such a niche role instead of being an all-around wide receiver. Certainly a work-in-progress, it sounds like Patterson will need to spend his soon-to-be off-season to work on his entire skill set.

Perhaps he and Harvin, who really can’t seem to find his niche either since departing Minnesota, should get together and compare notes. As far as anyone who drafted either Patterson or Harvin for their fantasy football teams this season, they’ve both been incredible letdowns. Whether the two receivers will keep struggling and letting their offenses down in 2015 is definitely the burning question.
