Jets Contacted Rex Ryan’s Agent to Inquire About Potential Replacements

The mess between the New York Jets front office and soon-to-be ex-coach Rex Ryan seems to be coming to a head right now. According to a report from NJ.com, the Jets have already started contacting potential replacements for Ryan, including coaches represented by Ryan’s agent Jimmy Sexton.

The interesting dynamic here is that Jets owner Woody Johnson is expected to fire John Idzik and let the new general manager decide on Ryan’s future. However, the likelihood that Ryan returns as the team’s head coach can’t be too good. The coach cleaned out his office this weekend and fully expects to get axed.

It’s just another example of the Jets brass showing a tremendous amount of disrespect as it relates to Ryan and what he’s done for the organization. Then again, we all know this is a business. And if one of the Jets top candidates to replace Ryan is represented by his agent, it would make sense for them to contact him.
