New Oakland Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie played parts of four seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays before being sent out west for Josh Donaldson the day after Thanksgiving.
And while Lawrie doesn’t have the name recognition on a national (or shall we say international level), he obviously had one huge fan north of the border.
As you can see below, a six-year old girl named Amelia was pretty distraught after Lawrie was traded.
If that doesn’t give you all the feels.
Apparently Lawrie saw the video after it went viral and decided to track the little girl down to get some pizza and hang out for a bit.

Good for Lawrie. I am sure he made the girl’s day.
Now let’s see if Josh Donaldson can make Amelia and other fans in Toronto forget all about Lawrie. That’s what Blue Jays are banking on after the team paid a pretty high price to nab the All-Star.
