Randy Moss Still Has NFL Aspirations, No Really!

Hey, that’s a fun Friday night headline.

Retired wide receiver Randy Moss, who appeared on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption on Thursday, clearly sounded like a guy that was ready to return the league.

Citing some personal issues he didn’t want to get into for his retirement, Moss indicated that his age and physical conditioning had nothing to do with him stepping away from the game (h/t CBS Sports).

The one thing that people don’t understand, guys, is one day I will hopefully get to tell my story of why I retired from the game of football,” Moss said. “It had nothing to do with the money, it had nothing to do with my physical ability. There were some things going on in my family life, going on with my children that I had to walk away from the game and be there for them as their father and as their protector.

That’s an interesting comment in and of itself. But Moss continued to explain his thought process, which might potentially include an attempted return to the NFL.

For me to be able to say that I still miss the game, I still love the game — I’m loving what I’m doing here at Fox, don’t get it wrong — but for me to be able to come back to the game for a guy like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, guys, I might consider something like that,” Moss said. “But believe me, I’m loving and enjoying what I’m doing what now. It was just a question and I answered it the best way I knew how.

Only in a world in which Moss didn’t actually suit up for the Patriots, would they even entertain the idea of him playing for them. This leaves the Denver Broncos as Moss’ only option (at least in his mind).

But let’s face some reality here. JaMarcus Russell has as good of a chance as unseating Andrew Luck in Indianapolis as Moss has of suiting up in the NFL again.

In his last season in the NFL back in 2012, Moss was a shell of his former self as a member of the then NFC champion San Francisco 49ers.

Then you have the idea of Moss suiting up in the state of Colorado where marijuana is legal.

That would be #StraightCashHomie, now wouldn’t it? After all, he has to be on the green stuff to even think the Broncos would bring him in.

Oh. We actually might be on to something here.
