Inglewood Mayor to Meet with Rams Owner

At this point, it seems inevitable that a NFL team will uproot to Los Angeles in time for the 2015 season. It just remains to be seen whether that team with be the Oakland Raiders or St. Louis Rams.

According to KMOV.com in St. Louis, Inglewood Mayor James Butts indicated that he will meet with Rams owner Stan Kroenke, who just recently purchased a 60-acre lot of land in the Southern California city.

Amid reports that the Rams are considered the favorites to move to Los Angeles and following a meeting between San Antonio Officials and the Oakland Raiders, this latest bit of information could be telling.

The Rams lease with the Edward Jones Dome expires following this season, and they are having major issues attempting to get a new stadium project going with local officials in St. Louis.

If Inglewood sounds familiar, it should.

Back in 1995, the league approved a plan set forth by then Los Angeles Raiders owner Al Davis for a state-of-the-art stadium at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. Defying the league, like he had so many times, Davis decided against the new venue in Southern California and moved his Raiders back to Oakland.
