Houston Texans RB’ Arian Foster Will not Play Sunday

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster was visibly upset after he suffered an apparent hamstring injury in the team’s last game two weeks ago against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite coming off a week in which he was able to rest and treat the hamstring, the Houston Chronicle’s Brian T. Smith is reporting that Foster will not suit up Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

At 4-5 on the season and one or two losses away from being completely out of the AFC Playoff race, the Texans desperately needed Foster to be able to go in this one. That’s only magnified by the fact that Ryan Mallett will be making his first NFL start under center against a surprising six-win Browns team.

Foster ranks second in the NFL with 822 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. With the veteran out of the lineup, rookie sixth-round pick Alfred Blue will get the start.
