Jerry Jones Believes Tony Romo’s Availability is About Pain Tolerance

It’s so nice to know that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has yet another occupation that he dabbles in while still assuming his all-important role atop the franchise.

In an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jones indicated that Tony Romo’s ability to play next Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals comes down to his ability to tolerate the pain. Seriously.

At this time we have nothing medically that would prevent him from playing. This is a function of pain tolerance, but it’s a serious issue that you could look at people who have had a similar type contusion, or injury, and they haven’t played the next week. That would cause you some concern about him playing.

An owner who has never stepped on a NFL football field as a player talking about pain tolerance is laughable. After taking a hit to his surgically repaired back on Monday night, Romo was down for a good three minutes before eventually being helped to the locker room for X-rays, which ended up coming up negative for any structural damage.

But let’s be honest here, short of Romo being hopped up on some serious pain medication this upcoming weekend against the NFC best Arizona Cardinals, he’s going to be in a massive amount of pain.

If I were the host of that show on 105.3 The Fan, I would’ve asked Jones if he ever suffered a back contusion? And if so, how it felt?
