A.J. Green Carted off Practice Field

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green, who has been hobbled by a toe injury this season, was carted off the field during practice on Wednesday.

The extent of the injury is not yet known, but it’s likely he aggravated the toe injury. If so, this could continue to be an issue that will impact him for the remainder of the season. Cincinnati already had its bye in Week 4, so it now must go 11 consecutive weeks playing competitive games. That’s could somewhat negate the impact Green has in the passing game if the injury continues to linger.

Despite dealing with the toe injury throughout the season, Green has still put up 314 yards and two scores in four games.

Green was limited to six snaps in Week 2, but was was able to put up 45-plus snaps in each of the Bengals’ last two games. It remains to be seen if he will miss Cincinnati’s upcoming matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

But it doesn’t look good (via Cincinnatti.com).

During the stretching period of practice open to the media, Green appeared injured and visibly upset. He threw off his helmet and shoe in disgust and was eventually taken off on a cart. He was able to walk, but with a limp.

We will have updates as they become available.
