Arian Foster Criticizes Thursday Night Football Schedule

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is never afraid to talk publicly about the issues of the day. And just a few days until his team takes on the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football, Foster openly questioned whether mid-week games make sense for the league and its players (via the Houston Chronicle).

Thursday night football is annoying for players. I don’t know one player who likes it,” Foster said. “I don’t know any fans who like it.

Foster also indicated that Thursday night games make little sense for a league that advocates player safety and then pushes said players to their physical limit.

Here is a little more from Foster about that.

The product that we have seen thus far this year on Thursday has been less than stellar, which could potentially play into what Foster is talking about. It’s hard for these players to remain healthy throughout the course of a 16-game schedule. Now add a week in which a team has just three days of “rest,” and it has to be a daunting task.
